This must be a night photo, right? Absolutely stunning. So you ever submit these to www.spearfish.org ? I believe they have a monthly contest. This has it all: texture, composition, interest, color, contrast...I love this!

No, This is "Octopus macropus" - not as common though as the normal octopus one generally fnds in the Med. I took it in the Mediterranean - northeast coast of Spain. The spots are white with no rings.

It's nice to see an octopus in movement, before it settles down, scrunches up, and quickly camouflages itself. That, and Ringo Starr always starts singing Octopus' Garden in the back of my ADD riddled brain.
